On the 20 March 2024, a conference on challenges in the work of social workers and senior policy was held at the Municipal Public Library in Stanin.
At the conference, the course and implementation of the Mental Senior project aimed at activating older people, their social reintegration and improving their overall quality of life was presented.
The event also aimed to present the results of the work of our Association and to spread the mission of the projects implemented, thereby increasing their positive impact on the community.
Among the guests were a delegation from the Wohyń Municipality with Secretary Agnieszka Buch, managers and representatives of the Municipal Social Welfare Centres from the Łuków and Radzyń Counties, as well as representatives of schools and local authorities.
During the meeting, the course and implementation of initiatives in the Mental Senior project were presented and the experts spoke:
– Ms Małgorzata Mitura-Cegłowska – psychologist
– Ms Anna Ostrysz – Manager of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Stanin
– Ms Agnieszka Buch – Secretary of the Wohyń Municipality
The experts shared their experiences of working with seniors, the extent of support provided to them, initiatives implemented to date and planned activities.
Given the social and demographic situation, everyone agreed that support for seniors is necessary and initiatives such as Mental Senior are very important and socially needed.
The official part of the conference was followed by refreshments and discussions.
